The launch titles for Nintendo's DS handheld gaming device have been announced today, with 10 to 12 titles promised for release within the first 30 days of the machine being available in America.

Launch titles are set to include Super Mario 64 DS from Nintendo, alongside third party titles including Madden NFL 2005, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Golf, The Urbz: Sims in the City, Rayman DS, Asphalt Urban GT, Ridge Racer DS and Mr. DRILLER: Drill Spirits, with some games priced as low as $29.99 each - around 20.

The Nintendo DS comes with PicoChat software built-in to the device, but gamers buying the machine at launch will also find a free playable demo of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt included.

Speaking at the announcement, Nintendo's executive vice president of sales and marketing Reggie Fils-Aime said "The overwhelming support of strong third-party titles, combined with Nintendo's flagship franchise, makes this the strongest software support for any Nintendo system in more than a decade."

Nintendo DS launches in America on November 21st, priced at $149, with a European release expected to follow during the first half of 2005.
