Recent weeks have seen both Sony and Nintendo cut the price of their consoles, but Microsoft has kept to their price point, saying Xbox already offers good value for money.

However as we reported several weeks ago, a £150 Christmas bundle was said to have been announced to a small number of retailers at the X03 event in the South of France, and it's finally appeared on Amazon.co.uk, who are selling it for £139.99 - £10 less than the RRP.
The bundle is due to go on sale on October 31st, the same day that a new Xbox Live starter kit is believed to be launching in the UK, and would likely signal the start of an unofficial price cut on the console itself as retailers aim to remain competitive by either reducing the console price or creating their own bundles.
Update: Amazon.co.uk have bought forward the release date of the Xbox Console with Halo & Midtown Madness 3 bundle, to October 24th (next Friday) and also reduced the price further to £132.99.
