Acclaim have snapped up the rights to publish Kreed - a Russian developed first person shooter which was the basis for a tech demo last year which was only 64k in size.

Readers might remember that at the end of last year a tiny 64k demo was released by programmer Dmitry Andreev, which was based on the tech systems used in Kreed, and even utilised some of the same models and textures from the PC game which itself has been in development since 2002.

Kreed sees gamers becoming a legionnaire - one of the most dangerous warriors of the 3rd millennium - and you've become marooned inside the space anomaly Kreed, which is a graveyard for spaceships due to it's massive gravity field which attracts everything in it's reach. The story sounds fairly bizarre as they often are with games from this genre, but it's been proving quite a hit in Russia and no doubt will do the same over here when it's released this September.
