Empire Interactive have announced that they've signed the European publishing rights for Big Mutha Truckers on the PS2 and Xbox.

The title, developed by Eutechnyx who were responsible for titles including "Formula One", "James Bond 007" and "Le Mans 24 Hours", will be available for release across Europe in time for Christmas.

Gamers get to sit behind the wheel of their 18 wheel rig, and driving their truck between the cities building up a personal fortune as they go, in a style of game which seems similar to Sega's 18 Wheeler.

However it sounds as though there will be quite a lot more play to the title than Sega's greasy spoon, as you'll find yourself meeting biker gangs, corrupt sheriffs and rivals who are trying to make their own fortune and prevent you from doing so.

"We’re very pleased to be working with Empire Interactive on this unique and exciting game." said Eutechnyx's MD, Brian Jobling. "I firmly believe that it will capture the hearts and imagination of driving game enthusiasts who are looking for an original gaming experience".

As soon as we get to know further details about this title, and any screenshots, we'll let you know.
