Microsoft have released new screens of Blinx: The Time Sweeper from their X02 event which they held in New York last week.

Blinx is billed as the first 4D action game on Xbox, with time being the fourth dimension, allowing players to control the flow of time by recording actions, playing them back and having dual characters cooperate to complete challenges.

Slow motion can be used to make things happen slower (in real time) and the fast-forward mode lets you complete tasks faster than would usually be possible. If that's not enough, you can even rewind time, and gain extra points by re-completing tasks that you've already done, in a groundhog day style way.

Buildings get warped by the changes in time, and because you're playing with the way time is occuring, you'll find both night and day occur simultaneously, whilst the rest of the world takes place around you.

Blinx gets to visit some 40 levels during his adventure, which Japanese developer Artoon have created based on inspiration from locations such as Venice, canyons, caves, ancient ruins, and even the famous visual illusions of MC Escher.
