Blizzard have announced that their next title will be Starcraft: Ghost, during a press conference at the Tokyo Games Show today.

StarCraft: Ghost sees players taking the role of Nova - not the hatchback car, but a lethal Ghost operative, trained in the arts of espionage and tactical combat.

Gameplay will take place in fully 3D Starcraft Universe environments, which will feature "over-the-top special effects" along with highly stylized character models, to offer what Blizzard say will be an unparalleled level of tactical realism.

Players will be able to use the "Calldown" abilities to target large-scale attacks, and battling adversaries, a number of which will be totally new to the Starcraft series.

Commenting on the title during the press conference at TGS, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder Mike Morhaime said
"Our roots are based in console gaming, and we look forward to developing this universe for the next-generation console systems."
