Xbox sales appear to have rocketted since Microsoft re-launched the Crystal hardware earlier this month, with the format managing 53% market share among consoles in the UK last week.

Sales of the 99.99 machine were up 49% from the previous week, no doubt helped by the release of titles such as Fable and FIFA 2005, and the forthcoming Halo 2, of which some retailers including GAME and Amazon.co.uk have already sold out of their initial Collectors Edition pre-order allocations - more than two weeks before the game is even due for release.

Microsoft earlier today also confirmed plans for a limited edition Halo 2 Xbox Live Starter Kit which is due to go on sale from November 11th, just as we predicted earlier this month when three new Xbox Live starter kits were found to be listed on Amazon.co.uk's website.
