Peripheral manufacturer 4Gamers have announced that they're launching a device which powers your Gamecube whilst you're away from a plug socket.

power base

It might not look like the most impressive device ever, but the "Power Base" fits snugly on to the bottom of the Gamecube, and provides up to an hour of gameplay, along with support for the 5.6 inch LCD screen that the company also make.

Charging of the units rechargable battery is possible via either the standard Gamecube power supply, or you can get the power from a car cigarette lighter adaptor for on the move action.

Power Base should be in all the normal retailers in time for Christmas, and will retail at a fairly bargain price of 39.99 - ideal for during the inevitable winter powercuts that we'll no doubt get.
