Acclaim Entertainment have today confirmed Burnout 2: Point of Impact, due for release on all consoles by the end of the year.

A number of new features are to be incorporated in to Point of Impact, with the most exciting being the Pursuit mode which see you racing a police car, and ramming opponents off the road.

The game will feature six new locations based in the USA, including Los Angeles, The Rocky Mountains, New Mexico and a busy international airport, with a total of 32 stages to drive.

Fourteen new vehicles will be included, along with seven secret vehicles such as police cars and 1950's classics. You'll also be able to customise your chosen vehicle with body kits and decals.

It's not just new tracks and cars that has been added though - you'll now get new weather conditions including snow and fog, and if it's all starting to sound a bit tricky, you'll be glad to know that there's the Burnout Driving School which helps you "Learn to Burn".

Burnout 2: Point of Impact is due to find itself wrapped around lamp posts (well, the Xbox, Gamecube and PlayStation 2) this Christmas.
