Atari have announced that they have entered in to a long term term development and publishing deal with Sid Meier's Firaxis Games.

The deal will see the return of Sid Meier's Pirates - a 1980's classic where you had to obtain as much gold and land as possible, as well as working your way up through the ranks such as Admiral and Duke.

Further games under the deal will include the Civilization Conquests expansion pack, with additional Civilization products and two un-named titles due to be developed by Firaxis and published by Atari in the future.

Atari have transfered the rights to several titles to Firaxis as part of the deal including Gunship, F19 Stealth Fighter, F15 Strike Eagle, and Silent Service: The Submarine Simulation.
