Further details about Project Gotham Racing 2 have become available, during the pre-E3 press conference which Microsoft held last night in Los Angeles.

The biggest news in the announcement is that driving action will now take place in a much larger number of cities than before, and in some newly announced locations - including Barcelona, Florence, Chicago, and Moscow, which join the previously confirmed Edinburgh.

Project Gotham Racing 2 will fully support Xbox Live, and will allow you to race against other Xbox Live gamers, download "ghost" cars to compete against the worlds fastest times, and online leaderboards which will update in solo play modes when you are connected to the Xbox Live service.

An all new "Kudos" system will also make an appearance, and will see you getting rewarded for power slides, spinning 360's, cornering on two wheels, and what developer Bizarre Creations describe as "drafting while staying on the race line and keeping car damage to a minimum".

Once enough Kudos points are gained, you'll get access to new cities, tracks, skins, and cars, and also boost your level-ranking, sending you further up the online league tables.
