Electronic Arts have grabbed the worldwide rights to publish Half-Life 2 and other Valve developed titles, including the forthcoming Xbox version which is due this Autumn.

Half-Life 2 saw huge delays before finally being released last November, with publisher Vivendi and developer Valve falling out over various issues and the use of their Steam distribution software.

The agreement with EA will see a "game of the year" edition of Half-Life 2 released, with Counter Strike: Source, Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Day of Defeat: Source all featuring in the package.
