The Stars awards were presented by Kate Russell during day two of the ECTS trade show at London's Earls Court, with Ubi Soft taking a large number of the gongs.

ECTS 2003 Awards

XIII won both Best Console Game and Overall Best Game of show for Ubi Soft, with similar fortune for the publisher coming in the form of Best Online Game of the Show going to their Everquest II title, and Far Cry taking the best PC game of show.

Nintendo also came away from the awards with big smiles, after being given the title of Publisher of the Year by people voting on the website, and also taking home the award for best Hand Held game of show thanks to Advance Wars 2.

ECTS 2003 Awards

Microsoft's Xbox was voted as being the best console of the year, with ATI's top-end ATI 9800 Pro graphics card winning the best hardware category.

Half-Life 2 picked up the London Games Week award to rapturous applause, with Sony's EyeToy receiving The Times award for the most absurd product to be developed. Various other awards such as those from European magazines went to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Battlefield 1942, Splinter Cell, Mafia and the UK voters went for Konami's excellent Pro Evolution Soccer 2.
