A number of the bigger publishers have confirmed that they will be at ECTS 2002, after many decided not to take part in the event last year.

Earls Court - location of the ECTS 2002 show

The event last September was considered to be very dissapointing by a large number of visitors and exhibitors, due to a lack of games caused by many publishers including Sony, Nintendo and EA all snubbing the show and holding their own events elsewhere, along with numerous other publishers in hotels and pubs scattered across London.

To combat this CMP Europe decided to move ECTS back to Earls Court, and the change in location seems to have had the desired effect with over 100 publishers confirming that they'll be attending, including Activision, Capcom, Eidos, Intel, Konami, Microsoft (developer relations), Midway, THQ and Ubisoft.

ECTS 2002 is just over 7 weeks away, and for the first time ever features a public hall, which is being run by Sony - for full details of the event, check out the official website at ects.com, and GamesPaper will be reporting direct from the show floor from day one of the event.
