Football fans will soon be able to get their fix of managing their favourite team away from their computer, when a new game for the Pocket PC and Palm PDA's is released this summer.

Football Director is under development by Infinite Ventures and RW Software, and is set to be the first PDA based football management simulation, with the hope that it'll prove as popular as the big name PC based titles which have captured the interest of gamers over the last few years.

All of the features that you'd expect from a football management game will be present, including attacking and defensive styles, formations, levels of aggression and standard match or cup play modes.

The full English domestic league will be included, using 2002-03 season data, but an update will be made available in August giving gamers the new season statistics.

Eugene Evans of Infinite Ventures told us "We believe PDA’s and mobile phones are a great new way for fans to tackle their favourite pastime. Now fans can play anywhere, anytime"

The companies are also working on Football Director Live, which will see a Play-by-Sync system used where PDA and mobile phone users will be able to compete against each other in multiplayer management games.

Football Director is due for release on the Pocket PC in July, with a PalmOS version following shortly after.
