Electronics company Am3 have announced that they're to bring a media player to the Game Boy Advance, and is due to go on test in Japan this May.

It's believed that you'll be able to store around 25 minutes of video or 5 hours of music on the 32mb smartmedia cards, which sounds like quite a lot to us, and must be very low resolution video and low bitrate audio.

The Smartmedia player is expected to retail at around 2,800 yen (about 25) when it's released in Japan later this year, with the memory cards - the same as you get with some digital cameras - expected to retail for a few pounds each, although seemingly much cheaper than smartmedia cards currently sell for on their own in Europe.

A full announcement is expected to be made tomorrow by Am3, and if there's any further information we'll let you know.
