The three stores, being HMV Birmingham 38 High Street, B4 7SL; HMV Glasgow Unit 6, Argyle Street, G2 8AD; and HMV London 150 Oxford Street, W1N 1DJ; will be throwing their doors wide open for the launch, which is likely to see lengthy queues on the night of Thursday May 2nd.

As a special incentive (as if you need it), the first 100 people to buy a Gamecube from the above participating stores will walk away with a copy of the excellent Luigi's Mansion, totally free. There's also going to be plenty of Nintendo freebies if you're not one of the lucky punters who gets to the tills first.

HMV's midnight launch follows on from a number of Gamecube events which are taking place at their stores, including the world exclusive video playing of Asher D's new single, outside HMV, Covent Garden on Saturday 27th April and Sunday 28th April at mid-day.
