Sony have confirmed the news which many PlayStation 2 owners have been dreading - Gran Turismo 4 is to be delayed until 2005, with localisation issues receiving the blame.

The announcement came as little suprise after the title had been listed on several retailers websites including as due for release on February 25th 2005, instead of the expected pre-Christmas date that it previously had.

Recently Sony announced that Gran Turismo 4 would have the online network play features removed to ensure the game could meet the release deadline, but the delay until next year doesn't even look likely to see the return of online play.

A growing number of titles are now looking set to miss the vital Christmas sales period, with Juiced from the bankrupt Acclaim, Microsoft's Forza Motorsport and most recently Championship Manager from Eidos all being shifted back to next year.
