2K Sports have announced that they'll be publishing the official game of the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games, which take place in Italy next February.

The winter Olympics are famed for offering some slightly risky sports such as the head-first tea-tray-riding Skeleton and equally dangerous looking Bobsleigh, Ski Jump and Alpine Skiing, alongside somewhat more sedate sports such as Curling and Figure Skating.

Eight winter sports spread over 15 events will be on offer, with up to four players being able to compete against each other in multiplayer modes which will offer a combination of head-to-head and turn-based modes depending on the specific event.

Torino 2006 is due for release on the Xbox and PlayStation 2 in January, and we're already feeling cold just thinking about all that wintry weather!
