Microsoft have announced today that the Crystal Clear Xbox is to be released in the UK and across Europe again, after it proved so popular earlier this year when it was sold in as a limited edition pack.

The special translucent design sold out in double-quick time when it was released in March to coincide with Xbox's second birthday, and seems to be part of a two pronged attack on Christmas sales after Sony announced last week that they were to launch a new slimmed down PlayStation 2 console.

Retailers across should have stock of the Crystal Clear Xbox from October 8th, priced at 99, and gamers will also be given the chance for the first time to buy additional Crystal Clear control pads, which will be priced at 24.99 each.
