Microsoft have today confirmed that a limited editon Xbox bundle has gone on sale, as a special Christmas offer.
As we reported just over a week ago, the bundle features an Xbox console, Halo and Midtown Madness 3, along with a voucher giving two months free access to the Xbox Live broadband gaming network.
A number of leading retailers including Amazon.co.uk and Argos have been listing the product for a few days, but it should now also be available from your local high street stockists, priced at a highly attractive £139.99 - the same as Sony's PlayStation 2 sells on it's own with no games.
"With this great-value offer, we're giving gamers the best console on the market, with the best games and the best online gaming service, at a special price this Christmas" said Xbox's Michel Cassius.
"By teaming an Xbox console with one of the all-time-best single-player gamers ever created, Halo, plus a great Xbox Live-enabled game, Midtown Madness 3, we're providing gamers the opportunity to jump right in to the exciting gaming experiences that Xbox offers. And thanks to the trial offer for Xbox Live, it's even easier for gamers to get right in to the action and start building their legend on Xbox Live. All this for only £139.99, making this offer the perfect Christmas gift for all gamers in Europe."
Microsoft have also recently released the Xbox Live communicator headset on it's own, meaning gamers taking part in the free trial can also experience the voice chat aspect of the service.
