Microsoft have used their pre-E3 media briefing to announce a number of new Xbox 360 titles, and also a complete upgrade to the console's popular Dashboard.

New Xbox Experience

Dubbed as the "New Xbox Experience" and delivered via a System Update this Autumn, the new interface will bring a number of changes to make it more sociable and fun to use, with a additions such as a "party" mode allowing 8 users to move between games whilst all remaining in the same chat session via the Community Channel.

Other features of the New Xbox Experience will include a My Xbox channel giving quick access to all content on the console, such as games, photos, music, videos. Film and TV rental service Netflix will also be launching its service on Live although it seems that this service is only for American 360 owners.

The new interface will also bring with it an Avatar based system as an evolution of the Gamertags that we're used to, and will allow users to customise a character by changing items such as head, body, clothing and general apperance, much like you can with the Wii Mii's.

Popular TV quiz show "1 vs 100" from Endemol will also be arriving on Xbox Live later this year as part of Xbox Live Primetime, offering a "massively multiplayer quiz show", whilst new versions of Uno Rush, Geometry Wars, Pac-Man World Championship will be complimented by Xbox Live Community Games as part of the "dash update".

A new function allowing you to copy games from the game disc and play directly from the hard drive will also be launched, eliminating the need for the disc to spin constantly - hopefully helping to reduce the noise which Xbox 360 consoles can suffer from, whilst also cutting loading times.
