The game is set in a world where crime knows no limits - something which seems the case with almost every futuristic plotline going no matter what the game - and will see cyber-criminals and technological terrorists coming up against your character "Major" Motoko Kusanagi and partner Batou in an effort to keep their actions at bay.

Some 51 weapons will be available throughout the game, but instead of just going down the route of guns and ammo Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is said to be aiming for a more involving experience by requiring the hacking in to enemy and surveillance systems to take down the terrorists.

The built-in wireless networking feature of the PSP will be used to allow for four-player gaming, which can be played in either cooperative or competitive modes.
