Sony have announced a number of new PlayStation Portable peripherals and services today, with a camera and GPS receiver both planned for launch by the end of this year.
The PSP Camera (PSP-300) will make use of Eye Toy motion tracking technology, and also allow for a video chat function, presumably meaning video calling with audio will be offered in a future PSP firmware upgrade.
GPS navigation functionality is also going to be added to Sony's handheld device with a GPS Receiver (PSP-290) and has repeatedly been touted as an expected feature of the PSP since mid-2003.
A number of old PlayStation games will also be offered for download via a new PlayStation Spot, which will provide wireless access to games, music and movies - with the Spot's currently being launched in Japan at coffee shops and games retailers.

Speed boost for British gamers
Internet service providers across the UK have been increasing connection speeds rapidly over the past few months, with new higher speed 8Mbps products from BT Total Broadband and other major ADSL providers.
The new faster speeds are already being offered in some parts of the country, where operator UK Online are providing a Home 22Mbps service over selected BT telephone lines in major urban areas.
Meanwhile gamers living in Telewest and NTL cabled areas can now receive up to 10Mbps download speeds on the top consumer package.
