Sega of America have reinforced their commitment to the Dreamcast, and have shown off a lineup of titles which are due for release for the next 12 months.


Peter Moore, president and COO of Sega America gladly spoke about how the lineup of Dreamcast titles reinforces the company’s commitment to its established fan base, which continues to grow, saying "As Sega moves forward as a leading third party publisher, we stand firm in supporting Dreamcast with more than 30 new titles this year".

Sega Dreamcast titles which are currently in development by Sega include:

  • Alien Front Online - Aliens have invaded the Earth to eradicate all human life! Join with aliens or humans online using a real time, in-game voice chat system, awesome army weapons or alien technology in all-out global warfare!

  • Bomberman Online - The newest in the Bomberman family delivers frantic online multiplayer gameplay, new special items and a character editing system.

  • Crazy Taxi 2 - Crazy Taxi 2 invades the streets of New York City with all new drivers and cabs, groups of passengers with different destinations and a new rockin’ soundtrack.

  • Floigan Brothers - A loony tune-style adventure game in which brothers Hoigle and Moigle protect their junkyard home from evil baron Malodorous and his gang of mercenary cats.

  • Ooga Booga - Battle it out as one of four tribal witchdoctor Kahuna clans - Twitchy, Hottie, Fattie and Hoodoo - to win the heart of the goddess Ooga Booga in this humorous, action-oriented tropical island romp.

  • Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 - Includes all the original content from the smash hit "Phantasy Star Online," and adds new levels, new items, new monsters and more!

  • Propeller Arena - Take off in renovated planes from World War II in a crazy air battle to decide who will be the winner. Propeller Arena features head-to-head battles with up to 6 people online using real-time in-game voice chat, plus spectacular Trick, Race, and Destruction Modes!

  • Sega Bass Fishing 2 - The sequel to the premiere "Sega Bass Fishing" features the ability to move freely around huge, realistic environments. Jump in your powerboat, choose your fishing spot and experience the action from all angles!

  • Sega Sports NBA 2K2 - With improved AI, new street courts including Oakland’s legendary Mosswood Park, and the ability to track wins and losses online, NBA 2K2 packs even more game into "the" premier roundball package.

  • Sega Sports NCAA College Football 2K2 - The first college football game for Dreamcast gives gamers the chance to take their favorite Division I squad to the conference championship, a bowl game and possibly even the 2002 Rose Bowl National Championship Game.

  • Sega Sports NFL 2K2 - Third generation ‘NFL 2K;’ features updated controls, including an enhanced passing and catching system, improved offensive and defensive moves, player-specific quarterback logic and online rankings.

  • Sega Sports NHL 2K2 - With all new gameplay modes and a revamped graphics engine, the fastest game on earth gets even faster with Sega Sports NHL 2K2.


  • Sega Sports Tennis 2K2 - Sequel to hit "Virtua Tennis," features 16 internationally-ranked men’s and women’s professional players including endorsers Venus Williams and Serena Williams. Mixed doubles, anyone?

  • Sega Sports World Series Baseball 2K2 - With a revamped user-controlled fielding system, advanced AI and new modes of play including Home Run Derby Mode and online mode, "World Series Baseball 2K2" becomes a whole new ballgame.

  • Shenmue II - Sequel to the epic masterpiece, "Shenmue," hero Ryo Hazuki travels to Hong Kong on a quest to solve the mystery of his father’s death, meeting many people on the way. The 2nd game in a new genre "FREE" "Shenmue II" expands on Yu Suzuki’s previous creation.

  • Sonic Adventure 2 - Join Sonic and his friends as they race in a mission of Hero vs. Villain to foil the plans of new dark enemies; with 6 playable characters, all new moves, and more than 30 stages, Sonic Adventure 2 breaks new ground - allowing players to save the world or conquer it!

Quite which titles are coming to Europe isn't know, but it seems likely that some of the more American based titles such as Sega Sports NCAA College Football 2K2 probably won't make it here - surely there's never been a better time to buy a Dreamcast with them now priced at under 100.
