Killzone is under development by Guerrilla - who recently changed their name from Lost Boys - and will see warfare taking place in a near future setting, which revolves around a savage conflict between forces that are still loyal to Earth and a separatist, militaristic faction who call themselves the Helghast.

Action will follow a squad of four soldiers on a suicidal mission behind enemy lines, and will see gamers taking control of one of soldiers, in a single player game which requires the full co-operation of the rest of your squad to survive the Killzone.

Full online gameplay via the PlayStation 2 online gaming network will also feature, and it's highly likely that this will take the form of the other team members being controlled by other gamers instead of artificial intelligence.
