Codemasters have announced that legendary football title Sensible Soccer is set to make a comeback early next year, with a modern-day version featuring all the iconic gameplay that the original was famed for set for release on the PC, Xbox and PS2.

Newly upgraded graphics will see cel-shaded players taking to the pitch, whilst sticking to it's roots by retaining the top-down style view which the series become so well known for - giving a better overall view of the pitch and faster more free flowing footy action.

Over 100 unlocks and upgrades will be made available as you rack up match wins, giving access to everything from useful Five Star Skill Bonuses for individual players to comedic Dinner Jacket football kits and other enhancements which may or may not make your tiny players control the ball better.

Sensible Soccer is due to kick off during the spring of 2006, and you can find out more about the game on the Codemasters website.
