Nokia's N-Gage mobile gamedeck has launched in the UK and countries around the world today, in the first ever same day global launch of a new games machine.

The launch comes after a large amount of advertising on TV, radio and poster sites across the country, along with a tour of Europe which visited a number of UK cities showing off the device before the grand final in Paris last weekend.

With 7 games all available on launch day including Tomb Raider, Sonic N, Tony Hawks Pro Skater and Super Monkey Ball, the line-up for N-Gage is certainly impressive, although we're yet to find a retailer that still has any in stock after seeming to sell out early in the day, with both and Expansys showing dispatch estimates of 3 to 4 days.

Details of the second Electronic Arts published N-Gage title have also been announced today, in the form of FIFA Soccer 2004. The game will feature 6,000 real players from 300 official teams, with matches taking place in 3D stadiums, and N-Gage's built in Bluetooth wireless networking will allow multi-player football matches to be played against other N-Gage owners.
