Online retailer have started to take pre-orders for a limited edition Halo 2 set, which will see the game being sold in a metal box.

Halo 2

The Halo 2 collectors edition is currently listed at 34.99 on Amazon with a release date of November 11th 2004, matching that of the standard version, although several other major retailers who we've checked this afternoon are charging the full RRP of 44.99.

It's believed that there will be a special bonus disc bundled with the metal boxed version, giving owners of the much sought-after package access to video features, artwork, storyboards and numerous other bonus materials including commentaries from the developers and behind the scene looks at Bungie.

Halo 2 is widely accepted as being one of the key titles for Microsoft's Xbox on the run-up to Christmas 2004, and with the inclusion of co-operative multiplayer on Xbox Live, it's looking as though it'll be even better than the hugely popular original which was released at the Xbox's launch in 2001.
