Online retailer Amazon.co.uk have started to take pre-orders for a limited edition Halo 2 set, which will see the game being sold in a metal box.

Halo 2

The Halo 2 collectors edition is currently listed at £34.99 on Amazon with a release date of November 11th 2004, matching that of the standard version, although several other major retailers who we've checked this afternoon are charging the full RRP of £44.99.

It's believed that there will be a special bonus disc bundled with the metal boxed version, giving owners of the much sought-after package access to video features, artwork, storyboards and numerous other bonus materials including commentaries from the developers and behind the scene looks at Bungie.

Halo 2 is widely accepted as being one of the key titles for Microsoft's Xbox on the run-up to Christmas 2004, and with the inclusion of co-operative multiplayer on Xbox Live, it's looking as though it'll be even better than the hugely popular original which was released at the Xbox's launch in 2001.
