Microsoft have tonight announced RalliSport Challenge 2 for the Xbox, at the X03 event being held in the South of France, and it's shaping up to be even more impressive than the original due to it's support of Xbox's online services.

RalliSport Challenge 2 will feature full compatibility with Xbox Live allowing gamers to race head-to-head against each other, and will also be the first racing title to be part of the XSNsports service giving access to leagues and tournaments.

More than 40 cars will be available to race on more than double the number of tracks which were available in RalliSport Challenge, each of which will feature improved photo-realistic visuals and animation such as breakaway signs, moving rocks, new splash and rain effects.

Speaking about the game during the event in Nice, Xbox's Michel Cassius said "Now gamers can really go off-road and onto Xbox Live, where thanks to XSN Sports gamers can set up their own rally leagues, check their progress on, and even play in large-scale tournaments. We're pleased to debut RalliSport Challenge 2 at X03, where it is in very good company with our best and broadest games portfolio yet."

RalliSport Challenge 2 is expected to see a UK release during 2004.
